The “Circuito Magico del Agua” or Magic Water Circuit is the main night attraction of Lima city, it’s 13 fountains that have given to this place international recognition and even a Guinness record!, it even looks magical after sunset.
This lights-and-music show has also another site, a more historic one. The group of monuments and fountains on display are dedicated to national heroes or historical figures from XIX century, this very place was a battlefield, Chilean and Peruvian soldiers fought here during Lima’s occupation by enemy troops in 1881. In 1929 was first inaugurated as a memorial site to honor our reservist for defending the entrance to the city with their own lives, something they didn’t achieve, the enemies occupied Lima for nearly 3 years till 1883.
This park was re-inaugurated after restorations and modifications in 2007, it was redesign this time to be a fun place for adults and children that would honor at the same time all the proud men who died for Lima. The little ones find here more than just a park, there are 3 interactive fountains where they can play with the water and get totally wet with their family and friends and take lots of pictures!, Take with you at least one change of clothes, dressing rooms are available for free near the fountains.
Trip: Bring cash Peruvian money for bathrooms, the post per visit is 1 sol (0.30 cents od USD).
Admission price is only 4 soles per person (less than 2 dollars), the park is open from Wednesday to Sunday and national holidays, opening hours from 4 pm until 10 pm. Take some extra cash in Soles(local currency) for some snacks, candies, sugar cotton, popcorn, sandwiches, apple candies, hotdogs, drinks, or maybe to get a ride in the cutest train ever (only for kids) that goes around all the park.
